Position Summary
Reporting to a Director and/or Project Manager, prepare take offs and submit cost estimates for concrete construction projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Consult with Homeowners, Architects, Designers, Builders, Foremen and Site Supervisors to gather and confirm details, formulate and submit estimates and resolve issues
Confer with Clients and other professionals on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Assist in modifying shop drawings for awarded projects using Computer Assisted Design software
Assist with obtaining pricing/quotes and availability of raw materials and supplies
Manage own time to ensure estimates and drawings are completed on schedule while meeting deadlines for multiple projects
Make recommendations to streamline processes and positively impact profitability
Live and work by our Team Values, Mission and Vision
Keep abreast of industry and trade standards and trends
Perform other duties as required by directors
Must be flexible and available to work overtime as required
Position Specifications (Qualifications)
Education / Knowledge / Experience
Post-secondary education in Architectural, Engineering or Construction Technology or a similar concentration or equivalent experience
Experience or knowledge of the construction industry; exposure to concrete is an asset
Knowledge of construction materials, methods and equipment
Experience reading drawings and/or preparing estimates within the Construction industry
Experience with Computer Assisted Design (CAD) software, Bluebeam Revu is asset
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, email and internet
